Falls Creek area Cave Conservation Trip

EWLS President and VP, Lisa Bauman and Khalvin Cook, work together in the cave to load the bags on to the rigging.
Volunteers removed debris and non-native grasses that were dumped into this cave. EWLS officers and two Extraordinary Women Cavers (EWC's) featured in the 2013 annual publication participated in the event.

Kim Luper, Alisa, and Jeff use some muscles to pull up large bags of debris from the cave.

Jeff and Alisa : Alisa was a big help with a large amount of the muscle for pulling the bags and pulley down to the cave opening. She also helped while watching her child at the same time. Nice work lady!
Kim Luper and Nenita Luper enjoy a ride on the rigging created by Robert Johnson that allowed the team to haul the debris up through the skylight. This system reduced the impact on the cave, saved time, and also made it easier and safer for volunteers.
Rebekah Bauman was featured as an Extraordinary Woman Caver (EWC) in our 2013 annual publication. Rebekah helped bring supplies to thirst cavers and enjoyed playing on the rigging system. Read an article about her at on our blog
Ruth Stickney was featured in out 2013 annual publication as an Extraordinary Woman Caver (EWC). She was a big help with the rigging for this event and came down to help in the cave too.

Jessica Deli

Jessica Deli has been Central Region Coordinator for the NCRC since 2012 but before then she had already made her mark as a rescue specialist and cave conservationist all over the US. Deli has been involved with the National Cave Rescue Commission since 2005. With a simple Google search you will find her name everywhere participating in cave rescue training efforts. She appeared in the New York Grotto 2008 report for the Cave rescue Seminar and 2013 Orientation to Cave Rescue. In 2006 Kansas City Grotto mentioned her in the Orientation to Cave Rescue at Indiana University. Central Indiana Grotto enjoyed her demos in 2012 at the club's Vertical training. At the 2011 NSS Convention she presented "Atmospheric Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Levels in Caves: What is Normal? Preliminary Results" with Anmar Mirza. And in 2005 she was involved in the Buckner's Cave clean-up project at Indiana University Bloomington. Deli's credentials in civilian life are impressive too! T
