Gorge Heritage Museum

The Gorge Heritage Museum is housed in the former Bingen Congregational Church, which was dedicated in May, 1912. The Museum was established in 1984 by the West Klickitat County Historical Society to promote interest in the legacy passed to us by the native people and the immigrants who settled and traded in the mountainous river valleys and along the Columbia River. It features tools, furnishings, clothes, photos, etc. from the past. They will acquaint you with pioneer clothing, house-hold items, logging and farming tools, medical and surgical equipment, historical documents, newspapers, and Native American artifacts.

Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center

Located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum brings to life the human stories and natural history of one of our nation’s most compelling landscapes. Presby Mansion

Organized in 1958, the Klickitat County Historical Society’s primary purpose is to collect, preserve and present the history of Goldendale and Klickitat County. The museum was dedicated on August 18, 1962 with Supreme Court Justice Wm. O. Douglas delivering the keynote address. Two additional buildings have been built to display collections.  The 24’x60’ “Annex” houses the actual Goldendale Sentinel print shop dating from 1878 and collections from early Goldendale businesses and the Goldendale Railway Station.  In 2002 the Carriage/School House was built to present farm equipment and a reproduction of a one-room school house.

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center

The Center is situated on a 54-acre point of land adjacent to the Columbia River and the Historic Columbia River Highway. The multimedia, interactive museum inspires appreciation and stewardship of the natural and cultural treasures of the Gorge and Wasco County. Exhibits focus on the volcanic upheaval and raging floods that created the Gorge, the unique flora and fauna of the region, and eleven thousand years of cultural history. Collections include hundreds of American Indian baskets from throughout the Pacific Northwest, photo archives (partially available on-line), and local genealogical files available in the William G. Dick Library. In addition to touring the many fascinating exhibits, visitors can spend time viewing films in the theater located on site.

Fort Dalles Museum

Fort Dalles Museum, in The Dalles, Oregon, is housed in the former Surgeon’s Quarters; the only remaining officer’s quarters of the 1856 Fort Dalles military complex. One of Oregon’s oldest history museums, it first opened its doors in 1905. A group of civic-minded pioneer women were instrumental in saving the building at the turn of the century.  Through an act of Congress it became the property of the Oregon Historical Society, which authorized the ladies of the “Old Fort Dalles Historical Society” to open it as a museum in 1905.  Since the early 1950s it has operated under the management of  the Wasco County/City of The Dalles Museum Commission. Take a tour of the unique collection of pioneer and military artifacts and antique wagons and walk on the grounds of this military fort, built during the 1800s. The museum offers free admission to active military personnel and their families throughout the year in collaboration with the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense.

Jessica Deli

Jessica Deli has been Central Region Coordinator for the NCRC since 2012 but before then she had already made her mark as a rescue specialist and cave conservationist all over the US. Deli has been involved with the National Cave Rescue Commission since 2005. With a simple Google search you will find her name everywhere participating in cave rescue training efforts. She appeared in the New York Grotto 2008 report for the Cave rescue Seminar and 2013 Orientation to Cave Rescue. In 2006 Kansas City Grotto mentioned her in the Orientation to Cave Rescue at Indiana University. Central Indiana Grotto enjoyed her demos in 2012 at the club's Vertical training. At the 2011 NSS Convention she presented "Atmospheric Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Levels in Caves: What is Normal? Preliminary Results" with Anmar Mirza. And in 2005 she was involved in the Buckner's Cave clean-up project at Indiana University Bloomington. Deli's credentials in civilian life are impressive too! T
